FALL RECREATIONAL LEAGUE

U10 – U18 Inter-club

Youth players take part in a Fall Inter-Club program which is a joint league with local club partners consisting of the Gabriola Soccer Association, the Mid Isle Soccer Club and Nanaimo United FC. The season runs from September to March with one training session on Wednesday evenings and games on Saturday mornings played between all the participating communities.

U10/11: 7v7 with goalies
Players will have the opportunity to develop technical ability, comprehension of team-play and formations. They will strengthen their individual agility, balance and coordination. Equal playing time is given in a fun and challenging environment. Players are encouraged to try all team positions, including goalkeeping.

U12/U13: 8v8 with goalies
Time to level up! Players continue to develop their technical ability including dribbling, shooting, passing and receiving. Tactics and team-shape are introduced at this stage, players working on defending and attacking as a team. Competitive teams at this age delve deeper into the fundamentals of soccer, fine-tuning pre-existing skills and challenging players to improve week by week. The goal at this stage is to move players along through the Long-Term Development Plan prescribed by Canada Soccer.

U14-U18: 8v8 with goalies
Technical skill along with team-play, formations and team-shape are the focus at this age. Players will continue to develop in a fun and challenging environment. Players who are new to soccer are welcome and those who prefer a recreational environment.
