Oceanside FC is proud to introduce H.E.L.P. — Hello Everyone, Let’s Play!, a grassroots initiative created to rally our community around the values of sport, inclusion, and local pride. 

Program Launch: July 1st – Canada Day 

The H.E.L.P. campaign officially launches each year on Canada Day, a fitting celebration of sport, community, and national spirit. This annual kickoff marks our renewed commitment to supporting players, families, and the entire Oceanside region through soccer. 

1. Advocating for Better Soccer Facilities and a Stronger Soccer Community

The Oceanside area is facing a growing shortage of quality soccer infrastructure. H.E.L.P. is focused on bringing community attention to this issue and driving real change by: 

• Advocating for all-weather turf fields, renovated grass pitches, and essential amenities like bathrooms and changerooms at local parks. 

• Calling for the installation of field lighting at both Kwalikum Secondary (KSS) and Ballenas Secondary (BSS) to extend field use into the evening and reduce scheduling pressure across all programs. 
• Mobilizing community support through petitions, awareness events, and club outreach. 

We also encourage local residents to get involved as: 

• Volunteer coaches, referees, and helpers 

• Club sponsors and donors 

• Fundraisers and advocates for better sport infrastructure 

2. Showcasing Oceanside FC’s Commitment to the Community

Oceanside FC is more than just a soccer club — we’re a hub for positive impact. The H.E.L.P. campaign also highlights how we give back to the community: 

• Youth Employment: We hire local teens as referees, coaches, and program staff — building work experience and confidence. 

• Buying Local: We prioritize Canadian-made, locally sourced products whenever possible. 

• Pay-It-Forward Soccer: Proceeds from our adult 6-aside league help fund youth players who need financial support. 

• Mental Health Support: We support Buddy Check for Jesse, promoting mental wellness and peer support through soccer. 

• Physical Activity for Life: Soccer builds physical fitness, teamwork, and resilience for all ages. 

• Scholarship Program: Our School Grant Program awards bursaries to graduating Oceanside FC players, recognizing commitment, leadership, and contribution to the club and community.

HELP Coach –

Our club is volunteer-run and thrives thanks to the support of our community. We’re grateful for your willingness to contribute.  We couldn’t do it without you.

You do not need to be a professional soccer player to help coach with OFC.  We have programs to help you learn how to be a coach, along with an online guide of practice plans and coaches nights hosted by our Technical Director, Riley O’Neill.
