Oceanside FC Welcomes Coach Riley O’Neill as Technical Director!
We’re excited to introduce Coach Riley O’Neill, our new Technical Director. With a wealth of experience and expertise in soccer development and coaching, Coach Riley is set to drive an exciting new chapter of technical growth at Oceanside FC.
Hailing from Vancouver Island, Coach Riley’s early passion for soccer led to remarkable success at the youth level. He captained his high school team to a BC Provincial AAA Championship, marking a historic milestone for the North Island. His journey continued, representing Canada in the National Team and enjoying a seven-year professional soccer career in Europe.
His accomplishments seamlessly transitioned into his coaching career. Returning to Canada, he directed his energy towards establishing structured developmental pathways and nurturing growth within the soccer community. His coaching journey includes leading the first Island team to secure a BCSPL title, followed by three consecutive championship victories. Coach Riley orchestrated the revival of the Victoria United club, resulting in a recent league championship in the PCSL. He also played a pivotal role as Assistant Coach for Pacific FC in the Canadian Premier League, contributing to the team’s victory in the 2021 Canadian Championship.
Coach Riley envisions a future for Oceanside FC centered around progressive player development and active community engagement. His methodology emphasizes honing skills and fostering community bonds, creating a nurturing environment for players to flourish. As Technical Director, he remains committed to propelling Oceanside FC’s growth by nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Guided by a pragmatic and results-oriented mindset, O’Neill aims to make a lasting impact as Technical Director, guiding Oceanside FC toward a future characterized by structured growth, player advancement, and enriched community involvement.
